Senior Energy Consultant

Job Description

Due to the huge growth of our consultancy activities, EnAppSys is looking for a Senior Energy Consultant. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in a customer facing consultancy role in the area of energy and utilities. A strong quantitative background is a requirement. Our key geographic focus is currently on Netherlands and Belgium, but we aim to expand into Germany, France and wider Europe.

The focus of the team is on creating scalable consultancy outputs, which means our consultants get to focus on new challenges instead of repeating previous work.

The role can be partly home-based, but we will require substantial time in the Dutch office, there will also be scope for European travel. We are building a strong team, which requires us working together frequently, so the junior team members can benefit from the experience of the mediors and seniors.

This is an important business role, key to the future growth of our business. EnAppSys is part of Montel Group and we aim to continue our year-on-year double-digit growth by expanding further into new territories. We provide services globally from our bases across Europe.

Skills essential to the role include:

• Experience in modelling.

• Experience in asset optimization.

• Experience in a western European Power Market, ancillary services is a plus.

• Interest in creating business cases for generation and flexibility assets.

• Competent user of Excel, VBA and/or python.

• Good writing skills, explain complex concepts in clear and concise written form.

• Presentation skills, comfortable with speaking in public.

• ability to work on your own initiative as well as within a team.

• ability to work well under pressure and to deadlines.

• Additional languages would be an advantage.

A few example projects we delivered:

• We worked in due diligence consultancy for the largest battery storage projects in the Netherlands and Belgium to date, creating long-term forecasts of market and ancillary services prices.

• We worked on solar + storage business cases.

• We worked on the business case for an offshore wind farm.

• We build long-term models and create optimization algorithms within the consultancy and analytics team.

• Salary: Competitive (negotiable depending on experience).

• Location: Ternuezen, NL. Travel is a requirement of the role.
