Montel Group – Business Development Assistant

Job Role:

Montel Group are growing again! To facilitate this we are seeking Business Development professionals to work from our Paris office selling the complete range of Montel Group products to energy market participants across Europe as we expand our integrated European Sales operation. The combined Montel Group product range includes Montel News, Market Price Data and Montel Analytics platform products (including Montel AS, EnAppSys, PriceIT, Energy Quantified, Montel Marketplace, Montel News).

Key duties of the Montel Sales team include:

  • Prospect and qualify new sales leads across the European energy markets, using a combination of telesales, email, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.

  • Follow up on inbound inquiries, qualifying leads, and running the sales process from start to finish.

  • Manage existing accounts for the purposes of subscription renewals and upselling of additional products

  • Schedule system demonstrations with sales prospects (to be delivered by the candidate for easily accessible products and with the support of subject matter experts for complex platform products

  • Track sales activities in the CRM system and keep current by updating account information regularly

  • Maintain a well-developed pipeline of prospects

  • Meet and/or exceed sales quotas

  • Coordinate with other team members and departments across Montel to optimise the sales effort

Experience Level:

We seek applicants with a qualified sales background but would also like to hear from applicants with a strong understanding of European Power Markets. Ideally:

  1. 2-4 years of sales experience with a proven ability to meet and exceed sales quotas; and

  2. Graduates with a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a similar related field looking to build a sales career in the Energy Tech Sector.

General Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Highly self-motivated

  • Strong communication skills

  • Fluency in French and English essential (additional languages are a bonus)

  • Proficient in MS Office and working knowledge/awareness of CRM and subscription management systems

  • An understanding of energy markets would be beneficial but not essential

  • Willingness to travel (European) to meet the needs of the business
